Clinical neurophysiology is used for making diagnoses and prognoses and determining the progression of nerve damage to the spinal cord and cauda equina resulting from spinal injuries or diseases affecting the spinal cord. As a form of diagnostics, it complements and follows on from clinical neurological examination.
