Chiropractic medicine
Chiropractic is a scientifically-backed treatment method that can be used as an alternative and/or a complement to medication, surgery and physiotherapy in treating a wide range of movement-related diseases and complaints.
Since autumn 2008, it has been possible to study chiropractic at the University of Zurich’s Faculty of Medicine. The Department of Chiropractic Medicine was incorporated into Balgrist University Hospital.

| Developing, implementing and monitoring the new chiropractic courses at the University of Zurich (Bachelor of Medicine with a focus on chiropractic and Masters in Chiropractic Medicine). |

| Planning, developing and conducting research projects in the domain of chiropractic, sometimes in cooperation with other institutions (University of Zurich; Federal Institute of Technology Zurich; Bournemouth University, UK). |
| Clinical training |
Future chiropractors will be able to receive clinical training at Balgrist University Hospital from autumn 2011. Work has already begun on planning the infrastructure and the curriculum.

The Department of Chiropractic Medicine provides evaluations and treatments on an outpatient basis. With a view to ensuring that patients treatment is as complete as possible, we are involved in close interdisciplinary exchange with all other departments of Balgrist University Hospital. |
