Highly specialised paediatric orthopaedics
Major efforts for minors: Balgrist University Hospital is highly specialised in paediatric orthopaedics and therefore provides complete care for any and all orthopaedics problems at all stages of growth - from newborn babies to adolescents whose physical growth is complete. We always focus specifically on children and their orthopaedic problems - after all, children and adults are different in terms of growth and development. For this reason, special attention is paid to these factors when evaluating orthopaedic problems in children. In the aim of giving children - and their parents - optimal care in the right treatment centre, we deliver paediatric orthopaedic care in cooperation with the University Childrens Hospital Zurich.
Key areas of expertise:
- congenital and post-traumatic skeletal deformities such as axial deformities and differences in leg length
- hip problems such as dysplasia and Perthes disease
- foot deformities in children (e.g. club foot, pigeon toes)
