The research laboratory of Balgrist University Hospitals Paraplegic Centre is mainly financed by project funds from the following organisations:

Our research laboratory is part of:
- Neuroscience Centre Zurich (ZNZ)
- National Centre of Competence in Research "Neural Plasticity and Repair" (NCCR-Neuro) with the project on spinal cord repair
- Zurich Centre for Integrative Human Physiology (ZIHP)
Infrastructure costs for the laboratory are borne jointly by Balgrist University Hospital and the University of Zurich.
Two spin-off companies have emerged from the Paraplegic Centres research laboratory and we continue to cooperate closely with both of them:
- ALEA Solutions GmbH (software engineering & measurement technology)
- Hocoma AG (medical engineering)
