Research in the Rheumatology Department

Clinical work is not the only activity performed in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rheumatology - research also constitutes an important part of what we do.

Focus of our research:
Our research focuses on early detection of ankylosing spondylitis and defining the diagnostic criteria or parameters of disease progression for complex regional pain syndrome (Sudecks atrophy, algodystrophy). We work with the physiotherapy department to test the effectiveness of the therapies and perform fundamental clinical research in the domain of manual therapy.
