Our inpatient nursing care

Our inpatient nursing care focusses on orthopedics, rheumatology, spinal cord injury, and rehabilitation. We look after patients in a highly professional manner, and tailor nursing care to meet their individual needs.

Orthopedics and rheumatology

Nursing care around the time of operation and the different types of pain therapy are major aspects of orthopedic surgery. We also focus on the support and alleviation of rheumatological diseases. Discussions with patients are also part of our routine work. Close cooperation with all the professionals involved in patient care is of great importance. Nursing care at Balgrist University Hospital is ISO certified.

Admission ward

With the admissions ward opened in November 2021, admissions will be logistically separated from discharges. Patients leaving the hospital will need their hospital bed in the morning, while patients entering the hospital will only need it after their operation in the afternoon, when the beds of the patients who left in the morning have become free.
