Prof. Dr. med. Ilker Uçkay is an internationally recognized specialist and researcher in the field of orthopedic infections. After completing his medical studies at the University of Zurich, he obtained board certification in Internal Medicine in 2001. Following six years of clinical work in general surgery and internal medicine, he began his career in infectious diseases and hospital hygiene at Geneva University Hospitals in October 2002. His research focuses on the epidemiology, treatment, and prevention of orthopedic infections, including diabetic foot infections. He is an active member of national and international guideline and expert groups in his field of research.
