Jens Blobner
Dr. Jens Blobner is currently working as a Spine Fellow and Acting Senior Physician at Balgrist University Hospital. There, he works under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mazda Farshad. Previously, he completed his specialist training in neurosurgery at LMU University Hospital Munich under the direction of Prof. Dr. Florian Ringel and Prof. Dr. Jörg-Christian Tonn.

Dr. Jens Blobner is currently working as a Spine Fellow and Acting Senior Physician at Balgrist University Hospital. There, he works under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mazda Farshad. Previously, he completed his specialist training in neurosurgery at LMU University Hospital Munich under the direction of Prof. Dr. Florian Ringel and Prof. Dr. Jörg-Christian Tonn.
Dr. Blobner studied human medicine from 2012 to 2019 at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and Heidelberg University. In 2021, he obtained his doctorate at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg as part of the Clinical Cooperation Unit for Neuroimmunology and Brain Tumor Immunology. His work was funded by the German Cancer Aid.
In parallel with his clinical work, Dr. Blobner is active as a Clinician Scientist within the Else Kröner-Fresenius Research College. His scientific work includes both experimental and clinical research with a focus on neuro-oncology and is conducted within international, multicenter consortia.

Spine surgery
The spine is a key component of the human body and spine surgery is correspondingly important at Balgrist University Hospital. The experienced surgical team led by Prof. Mazda Farshad specialise in the entire spectrum of treatment for diseases and injuries of the spinal column, providing patients with optimal support.
