These honors impressively underscore what Balgrist stands for—cutting-edge medicine that consistently translates scientific excellence into direct benefits for patients.
Philipp Kriechling received the prestigious Venel Award, while Maurits Olthof was honoured with the Maurice E. Müller Award presented by swiss orthopaedics. In addition, Martin Hartmann was recognised for achieving the Best swiss orthopaedics Board Examination.
These achievements reflect a culture of research and innovation in which science and clinical practice are inextricably linked. Translational research is part of everyday clinical practice at Balgrist: New findings are consistently translated into innovative diagnostics, therapies, and treatment approaches—with a clear goal: to sustainably improve patient care.
The fact that this commitment extends far beyond individual awards was evident throughout the entire conference. Numerous physicians and researchers from Balgrist University Hospital presented their work in lectures, oral presentations, and poster sessions, shaping the scientific exchange within the Swiss orthopedic community.
We warmly congratulate our award winners on this well-deserved recognition and thank all our physicians and researchers whose commitment continues to strengthen research and education at Balgrist.
