As one of the most important annual gatherings of the orthopaedic community in Switzerland, the swiss orthopaedics Congress (SGOT) provides a platform for outstanding scientific achievements. This year, several physicians and researchers from Balgrist University Hospital were honoured for their exceptional contributions to research, education and postgraduate medical training.

Philipp Kriechling received the prestigious Venel Award, while Maurits Olthof was honoured with the Maurice E. Müller Award presented by swiss orthopaedics. In addition, Martin Hartmann was recognised for achieving the Best swiss orthopaedics Board Examination.

These awards recognise outstanding achievements across various fields of orthopaedics and highlight the scientific excellence and clinical expertise at Balgrist University Hospital. Research, innovation, and excellence in education and training are key pillars in advancing orthopaedic medicine and continuously improving patient care.

In addition to the award recipients, many other Balgrist physicians and researchers contributed to the congress through scientific presentations, free papers, poster presentations and expert discussions, making a valuable contribution to professional exchange within the Swiss orthopaedic community.

We warmly congratulate our award winners on this well-deserved recognition and thank all our physicians and researchers whose commitment continues to strengthen research and education at Balgrist.
