Dr. Horn is a specialist in golf-related injuries, injury prevention and performance. As a former team player with high-level amateur experience, he understands the demands of the sport from the inside. Today, he serves as team physician for Swiss Golf and looks after motivated amateurs as well as professional players from 8 to 88 years of age.
During his training as an orthopedic surgeon, Nils Horn consistently combined his passion for golf with his medical expertise. He holds TPI Medical Level 3 certification and has conducted several scientific studies in the golf field, including projects on lower back pain and total knee replacement in golfers, in collaboration with university institutions. Thanks to this specific specialization and his connections up to the tour level, he has access to a broad network of colleagues, coaches and golf experts. This enables him to address the questions and concerns of patients and players in a holistic, golf-specific and evidence-based way – with the goal of preventing injuries and sustainably enhancing performance.
Dr. Horn studied medicine at the universities of Hamburg and Heidelberg and completed his orthopaedic and traumatology training at the Kantonsspital Graubünden in Chur, the Schulthess Klinik and the Kantonsspital Thurgau in Frauenfeld. An AO Trauma Fellowship in Bogota/Colombia was followed by a further Endoprosthetics Fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. Today, he combines his passion and expertise for golf with his orthopaedic know-how to offer his patients and players the best possible treatment and support so that they can be successful in their sport.
His scientific work, in collaboration with the ETH and various golf organizations, focuses on the further development of the sport and the treatment and prevention of injuries.
