PD Dr. Zipser is a senior consultant at the Center for Paraplegia and in the Department of Neurology and Neurophysiology. He studied human medicine at the Goethe University Frankfurt with stays abroad in Lyon, Paris and New York City. He completed his specialist training in neurology at Balgrist University Hospital, Zurich University Hospital and Tübingen University Hospital. His clinical focus is on neurophysiology in patients with back problems, paraplegia and (poly)neuropathies. In 2023, he completed a fellowship at the BG Unfallklinik in Frankfurt am Main and successfully completed the Eurospine Diploma. Dr. Zipser obtained his habilitation from the University of Zurich with a publication on intraoperative cerebrospinal fluid pressure measurement in patients with degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM). Dr. Zipser leads a research group on CSF pressure diagnostics and spinal cord compression and is actively involved in studies on imaging and diagnosis of DCM. In addition, he holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Philosophy from the University of Hagen with a thesis on the theory of science.
