Tanja Restin studied medicine in Cologne (Germany) with clinical training in Switzerland, Portugal and Benin. She completed her basic medical science doctorate at the Institute for Medical Tumor Biology and Tumor Immunology in Cologne, further training in surgery, pediatrics and anesthesiology at the Children's Hospital Zurich, the Cantonal Hospital Baden and the University Hospital Zurich with a specialist title in pediatrics and specialization in neonatology. This was followed by the MD PhD program in integrative molecular medicine and PhD at the University of Zurich. Dr. med. Dr. sc. nat. Tanja Restin is a lecturer at the Institute of Physiology at the University of Zurich.
Her current research includes the development of motor skills in children and possible factors influencing their neuronal development.
