This dree-day course will cover the entire spectrum of rotator cuff tears, tendon transfers, augmented repairs and latest developments in reverse shoulder arthroplasty. The Balgrist Shoulder Course is intended for specialized shoulder and elbow surgeons and will be held in English.

Day 1: Rotator Cuff repair techniques
Experience various presentations, case discussions and live surgeries covering rotator cuff pathologies, indications and techniques for operative repair of partial-, midsize and massive tears, and much more!
Day 2: How to treat the chronic irreparable RC tear?
Prof. Mihata, Dr. Elhassan and Prof. Gerber, the inventors of the currently most commonly used augmentation and tendon transfer techniques will give insight and discuss indications and expectations. There will be an interactive live-surgery of the arthroscopic-assisted latissimus dorsi tendon transfer and a superior capsular reconstruction.
Day 3: Reverse Total Shoulder Arthroplasty
On day three, the following topics will be covered: biomechanical considerations, prosthetic design, preoperative planning, and patient specific instrumentation of RTSA, including indications and techniques of additional tendon transfers. The Balgrist Shoulder Course will be completed by RTSA live surgeries.
