Drive-Through Coronavirus Test Center

The new coronavirus test center has been designed as a drive-through facility, with the aim of relieving the strain on existing test centers. We also offer rapid antigen tests. Please note the following information before you register, and wear a mask when you arrive for your test.

You will receive the test result via SMS within 24 hours in general. If the test result is positive, you will receive an e-mail in addition to the SMS. If you have not received a message via SMS or e-mail, please contact testzentrum@remove-this.balgrist.ch.

Didn't get a message via SMS or email or need to cancel an appointment? Then please contact testzentrum@remove-this.balgrist.ch.

Important information

How does the coronavirus swab test work?

Allocation of appointments
Coronavirus swab tests will only be undertaken if appointments have been allocated in advance. Please register using the online form below and choose your preferred appointment time. You will then receive an electronic confirmation, free of any charge.

Requirement to wear a mask
Please wear a mask inside your car when you arrive for your appointment. Anyone who does not have a mask will be issued with one at the first checkpoint.

What you need to bring with you
Please show the confirmation of your appointment when you come to the test site. You must also bring an official ID document and your health insurance card with you.

Charging and payment arrangements

The Swiss Confederation will pay the cost of the swab test if you have the symptoms listed for COVID-19, you were registered by the SwissCovid App or by order of the cantonal physician.

The Swiss Confederation will not pay the cost of the swab test if:

  • you do not have any symptoms and are taking the test at the request of your employer. If this is the case, please forward the invoice to your employer.
  • you do not have any symptoms and are taking a test for your own requirements, e.g. before going on holiday. If this is the case, you must bear the cost yourself.

A PCR test costs CHF 150.00, a rapid test CHF 65.00. When you check in at the Test Center, you will be advised whether your test costs will be paid by the Swiss Confederation. If this is the case, we will settle the invoice directly with your health insurance scheme, and you will not need to pay any deductible or excess payment. If the test is being carried out for reasons that are not covered by the Swiss Confederation (see above), please pay direct at the test center. Payments can only be made by card.
